Assimilation? What.. Oh you must be referring to the Famous Durham Report….. Right.. You DO know that the Durham Report was never carried through by English-Canadians, and in fact, the exact OPPOSITE policies were put in place? There is no assimilation. English-Canadians have better things to do with their time than assimilate us. Don’t get suckered into the PQ myths. Think for yourself.
I was’nt talking about the flag itself, but the meaning of the country…
Canadians were french first, but the British decided otherwise by assimilation…
So… You base your separatist decision on historical anecdotes? hmmm, that sums up the intellengtsia of the seperatist movement quite well.
By the way: The Canadian Flag was not ”stolen in 1867”… The Canadian Flag did not exist as an official symbol until February 15th 1965.
For someone who claims to ” KNOW ” the history…… That’s pretty weak…
In 1997 I moved to Alberta for 8 years and loved it! But the thing is that I learned to speak english,I learned about the english-canadian culture and I DO KNOW the history and that’s why we are so different. Did you know that the National anthem was created by a my ancester Adolphe-Basile Routhier in 1880 and you guys stole it.Did you also knew that the canadian flag was drawn by a french-canadian in 1624 and you guys stole it again from us in 1867 .

Then separate! Once and for all separate! Dispense with the childish referendums, declare independence, take up arms, defeat the opposing army, pay all debts, set up a treasury, print your own money, defend kweebek’s borders, speak french until you choke, and revel in your precious ineffable “culture”.
